During this year, I am developing my photography skills, partially though a birthday pressy from my family, and partly though a free Digital SLR course which is being run by a Monthly Photography Magazine. It is certainly a bit of fun to think how you are going to apply the project and what images you want to take. I get the information from the classes and then off I go, camera in hand, ready to snap my latest masterpiece. It doesn’t take long to find the original concept doesn’t quite give you the results you were looking for, so it’s “back to the drawing board”. Look out David Bailey.
I am beginning to get the first masterpieces pictures together, and thought you might like to see the results so far.

You would think with a title like that, the course would make you a superstar, however the ACE really stands for Adult Continuing Education. It is a 10 week evening course based in Milton Keynes. The idea is to get together with other photographers, learn a little about camera skills, focus on a homework project then present our work to the class. The first weeks project was to check out the “Depth of Field” of the camera, and I learnt quite a lot in doing this project. So far I have completed week 1 coursework.
This course is run each year by Practical Photographer, and covers 6 months of projects and a final submission to complete the course. I have completed assignments 1 – 3, although I need to do the advanced homework on Part three as yet. So if anyone has a dog who readily chases a ball and is seeking stardom…. I am sure I can arrange some dog biscuits in return.
Take a look and see what you think. I am happy to accept comments, and commissions.
